Trident Corporate Volunteer Council Quarterly Meeting

The Trident Corporate Volunteer Council, an initiative of Trident United Way, is hosting its quarterly meeting on Tuesday, November 15th from 11:30 to 1:00 at Blackbaud, Inc., where you can learn more about the benefits of employee volunteer programs and community engagement to your business, employees, and the nonprofit community.

Kimberlee Wilkerson, Senior Vice President/Strategic Marketing Executive for Bank of America will be speaking to the Council on “Brand Management and Corporate Social Responsibility”.

The Trident Corporate Volunteer Council brings together community, civic, government and business leaders who wish to turn their employee volunteer programs into a sustainable community investment.

PATH Luncheon

In honor of Philanthropy Week in the Lowcountry, PATH would like to invite active volunteers and the nonprofits they have helped to a luncheon at Coastal Community Foundation for some good food and networking time.

This will be a roundtable for attending nonprofits and volunteers to talk about their needs for next year, any ideas they have for PATH, common tech topics, etc. In addition, this will serve as a time of thanks to volunteers for providing great service, as well a time of recognition to nonprofits whose use of this service has resulted in a banner year for PATH.

Invite only. Please  register by Friday, November 11th, as space is limited. Lunch will be provided, so please send any specific dietary needs to the contact below. If you sign up and cannot make it, please give advance notice in order to adjust food orders.

National Philanthropy Day is a time to celebrate what makes our communities strong and healthy: giving back.  Donors touch, change, and sometimes even save, countless lives in ways of which they may not even be aware.  We, as professional fundraisers, are the bridge that connects these generous donors with vital community needs, and we can be found at the heart of every charitable organization.

Oysters for Opportunities

Charleston Realtors are also cooridnating a week of giving back, REALTORS® Care Week, through a variety of volunteer and educational opportunities, ending with the Oysters for Opportunities fundraiser on Thursday, November 17. Come out to Salty Mike's to enjoy drinks, oysters, chili from the chili cook-off, and live music. 100% of the event’s proceeds will benefit the REALTORS® Housing Opportunities Fund (RHOF) of Coastal Community Foundation, supporting local affordable housing organizations.

Charleston Magazine Giving Back Awards Gala

Charleston magazine will honor three individuals, one business, and one nonprofit organization whose commitments to giving back to the community are especially noteworthy. The 2011 Giving Back Award recipients and their causes will be featured in the November 2011 of Charleston magazine and celebrated at this special televised awards gala. The Giving Back Awards will be aired on My TV Charleston on Sunday, November 20 at 8 p.m.
